Fifty Eight Days...or something like that.

I got a new bike last month! It is a Kawasaki Concourse, a ZG1000 to be precise. It is a 1999 and it is purple, a little too "formerly known as Prince", but, what are you going to do? It has a huge gas tank, 7.5 gallons. I have only put about 400 miles on it so far, and am still getting accustomed to it.

It handles very well and takes even tight corners with ease. It is a bit on the buzzy side and I am trying to work on that with a balancing shaft adjustment. I tried it once and will try it again to try and eliminate some buzz.

Below 4000 rpm it is fairly smooth. but as the revs go up so does the buzz. At 80 mph it is hard to handle the vibration for an extended period. I love the saddle bags, I can fit a whole helmet into each one.

It may have a slight oil leak somewhere. I have noticed some smoke coming off the block when the engine warms up.

I just noticed that these pics are saddle bag less. They are big and square, they remind me of old briefcases.

I will miss the old cb1100f. It was an honor and a privilege to own such a part of motorcycle history.

Less than 58 days until the big ride to nevada and california and yosemite and san francisco and so many other places in between. Everyone is excited and getting tune-ups and trying to harden the old backside in preparation.

I will set some dates for some preliminary greasy spoon rides.
